Summary

Bounty hunter Stephanie Plum’s life is set to blow sky high when international murder hits dangerously close to home, in this dynamite novel by Janet Evanovich.

Before Stephanie can even step foot off Flight 127 Hawaii to Newark, she’s knee deep in trouble. Her dream vacation turned into a nightmare, and
she’s flying back to New Jersey solo. Worse still, her seatmate never returned to the plane after the L.A. layover. Now he’s dead, in a garbage can, waiting for curbside pickup. His killer could be
anyone. And a ragtag collection of thugs and psychos, not to mention the FBI, are all looking for a photograph the dead man was supposed to be carrying.

Only one other person has seen the missing photo—Stephanie Plum. Now she’s the target, and she doesn’t intend to end up in a garbage can. With the help of an FBI sketch
artist Stephanie re-creates the person in the photo. Unfortunately the first sketch turns out to look like Tom Cruise, and the second sketch like Ashton Kutcher. Until Stephanie can improve her descriptive skills,
she’ll need to watch her back.

Over at the bail bonds agency things are going from bad to worse. The bonds bus serving as Vinnie’s
temporary HQ goes up in smoke. Stephanie’s wheelman, Lula, falls in love with their largest skip yet. Lifetime arch nemesis Joyce Barnhardt moves into Stephanie’s apartment. And everyone wants to know
what happened in Hawaii?

Morelli, Trenton’s hottest cop, isn’t talking about Hawaii. Ranger, the man of mystery, isn’t
talking about Hawaii. And all Stephanie is willing to say about her Hawaiian vacation is . . . It’s complicated.

  1. Goodreads Review, Review by Heather

I enjoyed this book just like I have enjoyed all the others. I find them entertaining and laugh out loud funny.
It doesn't seem to bother me, as it does others, that the character Stephanie Plum is sleeping with more than one man at a time. She's young, not in a permanent relationship and FICTI...

  2. Goodreads Review, Review by Dana

2 out of 5 stars because old habits die hard.
However, I've become disenchanted with the series. To start with, Stephanie isnt as strong of a character as i used to think. She relies heavily on others (using either frienship or relationship ties) and takes a lot of crap from others. Exhibit A-...

  3. Goodreads Review, Review by Diandra

Just as I thought, this book was disappointing. Nothing ever really happens. It's always the same story. All the characters are just walking tropes. It feels like every book is the same exact thing, with slight differences in bad guys and occasionally minor character development. I basically hate al...

  4. Goodreads Review, Review by Jill

At least we had Hawaii. I really hoped we'd be there for the action and out of Jersey for a change of scenery. But no, we get basically flashbacks. That kept me curious as to what actually happened, but after that it was the same old formula. Sure the car got stolen instead of blown up, but how ...

  5. Goodreads Review, Review by Jac

I am too the point where I read Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series purely out of obligation (and I'm still waiting to see who she picks.) But let's all be honest here - Stephanie is tired, she is very tired. (And while her world is wonderful, her characters are colorful and we all have an attac...

  6. Goodreads Review, Review by Elizabeth

I haven't read the book yet but by judging the reviews, I can't wait to read it. I do not think a comparison of the Stephanie Plum series is valid to opening a flat soda. Janet Evanovich is obviously a bubbly person which is where Stephanie gets her corky attitude. In a review someone said Stephanie...

  7. Goodreads Review, Review by Brittany

I really couldn't get into this one. At first, I really thought the author realized that the same old formula and indecision between the characters was becoming absurd and tiring, but obviously not.

The plot was slow and half way through the book I didn't care. It took me less than six h...
So, here I am again. I swore I wouldn't read another Evanovich Plum Novel--after my last review of 17, I swore tooth and nail to my husband, my mom, and my blog readers that I wouldn't read it! S...

Okay, I admit it -- I'm a Stephanie Plum sucker! I read Smokin' 17, and until the last chapter of the book, SWORE that I'd no longer be running out to get the hardcover edition another Stephanie Plum book as soon as it was released, Instead,I'd be looking for the paperback at one of the used boo...

  10. Goodreads Review, Review by Heather

Here's the thing. I love Janet. I love the Stephanie world, I really do.

However - after 18 books a lot of things are starting to get very old.

Let's start with:
